In March 2025, the Kansas Impact Coalition partnered with Yesenia Hernandez of “Familias Unidas” a sub-committee of KIC, and hosted the Families United Immigration Resource Event at the Temple Building in downtown Salina. The event brought together more than 200 community members for an evening of support, empowerment, and connection.

Through partnerships with local attorneys, paralegals, and notaries, we helped families complete power of attorney documents to protect their loved ones in the event of family separation by ICE. Our team also provided access to legal information, citizenship guidance, and community resources in a safe, welcoming space.

Guests enjoyed a plate-meal fundraiser, with all proceeds dedicated to helping local immigrant families access affordable legal support. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised $1,900 to assist with immigration cases and documentation costs.

The night was a reminder of what Salina can accomplish when we stand together, neighbors helping neighbors, united by compassion and a shared belief that every family deserves safety, dignity, and hope.
